Bobby - Bobcat

Meet Bobby the Bobcat, one of our most charming residents! Born on a fur farm and originally destined to become a fur coat, Bobby’s life took a wonderful turn when he was rescued. In 2008, he was brought to a shelter where our founder, Mollie Hogan, instantly fell in love with his affectionate nature and brought him to The Nature of Wildworks. Bobby enjoys a life full of love and enrichment—and you can meet him up close and personal, just remember he'll be expecting some chicken as a treat!

Bear - Canadian Lynx

Say hello to the playful, curious and gentle Canadian lynx, Bear! Though he is about the size of a California bobcat, Bear is actually a different species—one with his own wild charm and distinctive tufted ears. At less than a year old, Bear is full of energy and personality. He loves to play and explore. Come visit with Bear and discover what makes this young lynx so special!

Spring - Gray Fox

Sit with Spring the Gray Fox, our sweet and affectionate “kissing fox”! Spring’s story began in the town of Stanislaus, where she surprised everyone by wandering into a yoga class looking for food and friendship. Now safe and loved at The Nature of Wildworks, Spring shares her gentle nature and famous fox kisses with those lucky enough to meet her.

Sunny - Blue & Gold Macaw

Sunny is our very silly and sassy Blue & Gold Macaw. He is a very social boy and loves giving little kisses and will blush very very pink when you meet him! Macaws like Sunny thrive on human interaction, so trust us when we say he is going to enjoy hanging out with you just as much as you enjoy hanging out with him. Play Sunny some music, dance, feed him a walnut or cracker, and see why we are swooning for Sunny!!!

Rainbow - African Pygmy Hedgehog

Get a chance to meet with Rainbow, the African Pygmy Hedgehog, one of our beloved educational ambassadors! With her curious nose and tiny paws, Rainbow helps teach visitors about the fascinating world of hedgehogs and the importance of caring for even the smallest of creatures.

Luna, Aurora, and Stella - Ferrets

Meet Luna, Aurora, and, Stella, our playful ferret friends! These curious and mischievous little ambassadors love exploring and making new friends. You can pet and interact with them by booking a ferret encounter—get ready for a fun and furry adventure!

Golden Girls - Leghorn Chickens

Do you remember the Golden Girls? We have our own. Dorothy, the no-nonsense one; Blanche’, the sass queen; and Rose, the sweet but scatterbrained white chicken. These cute little chickens are going to help sustain our little ecosystem by sharing their eggs with our other critters. Our foxes, cats and raccoons will enjoy the gourmet treats!

Flemish Bunnies

Say hello to our three gentle giant Flemish rabbits! Big in size but even bigger in personality, these friendly bunnies love attention, cuddles, and hopping around their space. Come meet them and experience the charm of these lovable giants up close!

Turbo - Ball Python

At over 30 years old, Turbo is one of our oldest and wisest residents. Despite his age, he’s still eager to participate in programs and help educate the public about wildlife. His experience and calm presence make him a beloved ambassador at Wildworks.

Sonora - Desert Tortoise

Sonora, our desert tortoise, would love to meet you — as long as you visit while she’s awake! Like many tortoises, Sonora bromates during the colder months. When it’s time to sleep, she burrows down into the dirt for a long winter’s nap. She carries her home with her everywhere she goes and reminds us that sometimes everything we need is already with us.

Myrtle - Box Turtle

Our box turtle, Myrtle, is one of our smallest animals and is like a tiny living time capsule. He has quietly witnessed seasons, storms, and generations come and go. Come see why this delightful animal has lived for so many years.

Tioga - Mountain Lion

Tioga isn’t just a new addition—he’s a symbol of hope and continuity for our wildlife family. As a growing mountain lion, he inspires us every day, and we are honored to care for him throughout his life. During your visit, you can feed Tioga and watch him up close, becoming part of his journey while learning about his care, growth, and the important role mountain lions play in the wild.

Dragon - Red Tail Hawk

Dragon, our majestic red-tailed hawk, is a true ambassador of the skies. With his keen eyes and powerful presence, he helps visitors learn about raptors, their incredible hunting skills, and the vital role they play in nature. Come and feed Dragon and experience the grace of one of the wild’s most iconic birds.

Please note: Dragon is not available during the spring due to mating behaviors

Singer - Barn Owl

Singer is our charming barn owl with a personality as captivating as his silent flight. Known for raising four chicks, he’s not only an incredible teacher of nocturnal life but also a living example of dedication and care. Come and feed Singer. See why owls have fascinated humans for centuries.
