Bobby - Bobcat
Meet Bobby the Bobcat, one of our most charming residents! Born on a fur farm and originally destined to become a fur coat, Bobby’s life took a wonderful turn when he was rescued. In 2008, he was brought to a shelter where our founder, Mollie Hogan, instantly fell in love with his affectionate nature and brought him to The Nature of Wildworks. Bobby enjoys a life full of love and enrichment—and you can meet him up close during our Bobcat Hangout experience!

Bear - Canadian Lynx
Say Hello to Bear the Canadian Lynx, our playful and curious cub! Though he may grow to be about the size of a California bobcat, Bear is actually a different species—one with his own wild charm and distinctive tufted ears. Still full of kitten energy and personality, Bear loves to play and explore. Come visit with Bear and discover what makes this young lynx so special!

Sit with Spring the Gray Fox, our sweet and affectionate “kissing fox”! Spring’s story began in the town of Stanislaus, where she surprised everyone by wandering into a yoga class looking for food and friendship. Now safe and loved at The Nature of Wildworks, Spring shares her gentle nature and famous fox kisses with those lucky enough to meet her.

Golden Girls - Leghorn Chickens
Do you remember the Golden Girls? We have our own. Dorothy, the no-nonsense one; Blanche’, the sass queen; Rose, the sweet but scatterbrain; and Sophia, that tiny-but-mighty energy. These cute little chickens are going to help sustain our little ecosystem by sharing their eggs with our other critters. Our foxes and raccoons will enjoy the gourmet treats!​​

Jake - Gopher Snake
Jake the Gopher Snake joined Wildworks in 2008 after being found as a tiny, shy snake hiding in a family’s home. Since then, Jake has grown into a calm and fascinating ambassador, helping visitors learn about snakes and the important role they play in the wild.

Sonora - Desert Tortoise
Sonora, our desert tortoise, would love to meet you — as long as you visit while she’s awake! Like many tortoises, Sonora bromates during the colder months. When it’s time to sleep, she burrows down into the dirt for a long winter’s nap. She carries her home with her everywhere she goes and reminds us that sometimes everything we need is already with us.​
