Native to: North America into central Alaska and northern Canada, and south as far as the mountains of Panama
Fun Fact about Red-Tail Hawks: The raspy cry of the Red-tailed Hawk is used in movies to represent any eagle or hawk anywhere in the world!

Favorite Treat: Soft turf under her feet
Natural Habitat: Wide variety of open habitats with scattered, elevated perches, including deserts, grasslands, woodlands, agricultural fields and even urban areas
Fun Fact about Red-Tail Hawks: They possess four types of cone cells in their eyes, enabling them to see ultraviolet light. This allows them to track fluorescent urine trails left by rodents on the ground!

Fun Fact about Peregrine Falcons: The peregrine falcon reaches faster speeds than any other animal on the planet when performing the stoop, which involves soaring to a great height and then diving steeply at speeds of over 320 km/h (200 mph), hitting
one wing of its prey so as not to harm itself on impact.

Fun Fact about Harris's Hawks: They will perch on top of a saguaro cactus and “stack” on top of each other. It is reported that up to 10 birds have been sighted stacking as they plan their attack.

Favorite Activity: Winking at guests!
Habitat: Deserts, wetlands, forests, grasslands, backyards, cities, and almost any other semi-open habitat between the Arctic and the tropics
Fun Fact about Great Horned Owls: Just like a dog, great horned owls use these tufts of feathers that look like ears to convey body language. When they are irritated the tufts lie flat and when they are inquisitive the ears stand upright.

Habitat: Rainforests, woodlands, and savannahs
Fun Fact about Blue and Gold Macaws: They are famous for their bright colors, which seem bold and conspicuous to us but actually blend in well with the green leaves, red and yellow fruits, and bluish shadows in the rain forest.
