Elizabeth (Liz)

Peregrine Falcon

Liz is a young Peregrine falcon who was acquired for educational programs and, as the fastest animal in the world, she has a lot to teach us! Liz is practicing for her future career at home where we handle her on a leather glove and carry her around to see the sights and meet the volunteers and guests up close. She has a large outdoor enclosure but is often perched indoors to simulate a classroom environment to help her get accustomed to all the sights and sounds. The two housecats like to sit near her and she doesn’t seem to mind. Although peregrines are bird hunters in nature, a cat and falcon normally be a predator/prey situation. We are continually amazed at the unusual friendships that form at the Wildworks wildlife center!
