Their Story Harley and Chopper, our European ferrets, were being kept illegally by some motorcycle enthusiasts, hence their names. The siblings were neglected and became thin and worried about being handled by people. When they were eventually given to a cat rescue group they were in awful shape and needed a lot of care, good nutrition, and re-introduction to caring humans. Their rescuers were able to nurse them back to health and taught them to trust people. This process took over a year but was worth the effort. Because ferrets are not legal pets in California, the rescue group began the search for a permanent home. Now living at Wildworks, these gentle animals have made many new friends and are featured in our programs.
